INTO THE BLUE…someday
Wet flakes of white are falling, how can it be possible?!! My recent acceptance of what is – is being tested as the first signs of winter descend. We (my husband, youngest daughter, and I) had planned on being on our sailboat, Nyapa, by this time in the season with Nyapa’s bow pointed south. What is it that they say about best laid plans? Now, with the watery patter on the roof and the vision of white outside my window, I am face to face with the reality of another long winter in the northeast.
To everything there is a season and winter is the season to go within. I thought that I had had enough of going within for awhile but apparently I am not quite done with that yet. I had reluctantly shelved my early morning meditations, journaling, regular exercise, and home cooked meals to accommodate the massive amounts of work required to leave a home that I have been a part of for forty-five years. Forty-five years of accumulation, what more do I need to say? I would say, “never again” but I have learned never to say never unless I want to eat my words later.
The image accompanying this post is a beacon, a hope, a promise of what is to come. I shot this from our first boat, the Equinautus, shortly after John and I were married. It was our first time cruising, down the east coast to the Bahamas and other than being afraid, I was in wonder at the blueness of it all. A translucent pallet of blue and green filling the senses, an artist’s heaven. Years later, my fears quelled, I eagerly await someday.
This may not be the season for that visual feast of blue. It may not be the time for saying goodbye to this tree-covered hill I love so much either. But, above all else I seek peace and luckily that requires nothing more than a choice. Remind me I wrote that in the middle of February.
Peace,
Amy

Woah! I’m really experiencing the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s tough to have that “perfect balance” between superb usability and look and feel. I have to admit you’ve done a wonderful job on this. Also, the blog loads extremely fast for me. Outstanding Blog!
